you get credit, they only hurt, the only time a credit card shows up on your credit is when you are late or delinquent, or when you have a balance (basically making your debt/income ratio worse=less likely to get approved for loans) If you want to establish credit, start by making sure you have been with the same employer for at least 6 months to a year, then make sure your address has not been changing around (key here is stability, banks like stability) Then start buying things that you can easily afford with signature loans from the bank, or by financing them thru other institutions. If you plan on spending a grand on mods, borrow a grand from the bank with a 6 month or a year term and pay it off accordingly. You will likely get a better rate from your bank than a card anyway. Rinse repeat. That will establish much better credit than any credit card. Credit cards are not how you establish credit, they are how you wreck it.
